Founded on October 13, 2006, Limelight Magazine was originally a quarterly, print publication devoted to rock music and the local music scene of New England. After issuing its final print issue in the summer of 2013, Limelight Magazine shifted its operations entirely online and expanded its editorial content to include coverage of movies, television, filming locations, and pop culture in the United States. In late 2017, Limelight Magazine developed a strategic plan for the future and decided to scale back its coverage of the local music scene, while increasing its coverage in other content areas. Effective July 1, 2021, Limelight Magazine became the exclusive promotional arm of JKB Entertainment Group similar to the way Pulse! promoted music releases for Tower Records in the 80s and 90s. Due to this change, Limelight will no longer be providing coverage of the local music scene in New England. However, we will continue to add local acts to our shows when the artist we book requests an opener. These events include concerts with national touring musicians, comedians, film screenings and even psychics.
