GLOUCESTER, MA. and DERRY, N.H. — Guitar Monsters, a guitar-driven rock and blues benefit concert featuring Grammy-nominated guitarists Johnny A. and Jon Butcher with special guest Dave Amato, former longtime lead guitarist for REO Speedwagon, will perform at The Cut LIVE in Gloucester, MA, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, and Tupelo Music Hall in Derry, NH, on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Produced by Rockin’ 4 Vets/Alive & Kicking Productions, the concerts will support local organizations serving veterans and the broader community while delivering a high-energy night of soulful blues, melodic rock, iconic riffs, and live improvisation.

Johnny A., known for his work with Peter Wolf of the J. Geils Band, acclaimed solo projects, Boston Music Awards recognition, and induction into the Boston Music Hall of Fame, joins Jon Butcher, whose career includes Jon Butcher Axis, Barefoot Servants, Experience Hendrix, and national tours with acts including Def Leppard, Rush, and Scorpions.

Special guest Dave Amato, a Massachusetts native, helped shape REO Speedwagon’s live sound for more than three decades and has also performed or recorded with artists including Rick Springfield, Cher, Richie Sambora, and Michael Bolton. Following REO Speedwagon’s 2024 retirement, Amato continues to perform with the Kevin Cronin Band and is touring this summer with former Eagles guitarist Don Felder.

“This is not background music or a polite night out—it is a full-tilt rock show with heart,” organizers said. Proceeds from the Gloucester performance will support The Open Door, a local food pantry serving community members facing hunger. Proceeds from the Derry performance will support Liberty House, which provides substance-free transitional housing and support services for American veterans.
